The former monastery town of Bad Schussenried with its Baroque tourist attractions is situated in the heart of Upper Swabia at an altitude of 570 m - 630 m above sea level. 8300 inhabitants live in this town with its districts of Otterswang, Reichenbach and Steinhausen, and many localities. Bad Schussenried offers ample shopping facilities.

All formal educational facilities, such as a primary school, lower secondary school, intermediate secondary school and an upper secondary school, are available, as are ample nursery schools. The town boasts numerous clubs and associations in both the sporting and musical sectors.

Bad Schussenried is a railway station on the Ulm-Friedrichshafen line (trains run hourly) with connections to the intercity station in Ulm. The A7 and A8 motorways can easily be accessed from the B 30.
